It was a night to remember for The Voice contestant Lauren Diaz. The season 11 competitor delivered a gorgeous rendition of Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You” during her blind audition on Tuesday’s episode. Her cover of the hit single not only impressed the coaches, but Diaz was invited to join Keys on her team.
The Grammy-winning artist, who was moved to tears by the performance, subsequently walked her new team member off the stage and remarked, “I have never heard anyone sing that song like that.” She also took to her Twitter account to praise Diaz.

While Diaz excitedly became the newest member of Team Alicia, another big surprise was in store for the contestant backstage. Waiting patiently for her return was her boyfriend, Randy, who suddenly dropped down to one knee.

Surprised to find Randy waiting for her backstage with a ring, Diaz said yes to resounding cheers. The two embraced in an emotional reunion.
It didn’t take long for Diaz to share the news on Instagram with her fans and followers. “What a dream come true!” she captioned her photo. “#TEAMALICIA on the #TheVoice #VoicePremiere thank you for all my fans, the love, and the support! I can’t believe this is all happening and that #IMENGAGED 💍🎉 crying brb.”
“I’m ecstatic,” her now-fiance Randy added. “I’m excited for our future together and I’m really excited for her right now and what her future holds.”
It turns out that the couple is already married. Diaz took to her Instagram this week to share a photo of herself on her wedding day.
“First I was a mother, it changed me and my entire outlook on life completely,” she shared on her page. “Then I became a wife. Most say I did it sooo backwards but I’m most certain god intended it to be this way. Now in a couple of days you get to know me,my entire story, and follow my music journey!
