Wells Adams is a wise man. His girlfriend, Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, recently revealed that the Bachelorette alum already knows what kind of engagement ring she’d like, though the two have been dating for under a year.
“Um, I’m a 27-year-old woman, of course I have,” she told Entertainment Tonight with a laugh when asked whether or not she’d thought about her ideal engagement ring. (The interview took place at an event hosted by celeb jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, the force behind Kim Kardashian and Blake Lively’s engagement rings.)
When asked whether or not Adams, 33, knows the specifics of that dream bling, Hyland reassured, “He knows what it is, so it’s fine.”
Find someone who makes you laugh, who gives you butterflies every time they walk in a room, who supports you and recognizes your worth. Someone that sees you at your best when you think you’re at your worst. A partner and a best friend that encourages you to take those risks and pursue your dreams. Happy Valentine’s Day @wellsadams ❤️ #toplutoandback
The sweet couple have been dating since last fall, and made their relationship Instagram official in November.
One of the biggest challenges to their relationship thus far has been dealing with the distance, she added—but they’re both willing to put in the effort to make it work. (Adams lives in Nashville, while Hyland resides in Los Angeles).
“I think the longest we’ve gone without seeing each other is like two to three weeks, because five days is already too much for us,” she said. “So we always try to make sure to see each other.”
“He’s a friggin’ trooper and always flying out here every weekend or every other weekend to see me if my schedule has been too busy to see him—which it has been in 2018 with awards season and with Modern,” she added. “But yeah—I don’t think it’s hard if the love is there.”
Hyland previously told Jimmy Kimmel that the pair met in the most modern of ways—through Twitter.
“He slid into my DMs … we had tweeted each other, and I thought he was funny and he was a fan of the show [Modern Family],” Sarah explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in January. “He said, ‘Next time we’re in LA, I’m taking you out.’” Specifically, for tacos.
“I love tacos. He loves tacos, so that was like his thing, like, ‘I love tacos, let’s see if she likes tacos’… we both like tacos!”
The rest, as they say, is Bachelor history.
