Sonni Vargas received her dream proposal from boyfriend of two years Jordan Williams at Disneyland on July 6, but her engagement has gone viral this past week for a very different reason.
After Williams popped the question in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle, the pair made their way through the theme park to celebrate their engagement, eventually landing at the iconic Space Mountain. Vargas was especially prepared to celebrate her relationship status update while on the ride.

At the exact juncture where riders are photographed—typically terrified due to the downward slope of the coaster—Vargas confidently held up her arms and pointed to the brand new sparkler on her ring finger, while everyone else looked far more animated.
Vargas shared photos from the proposal and the Space Mountain moment to Twitter, and her post took off. In fact, it went viral with more than 32,000 retweets and 154,000 likes.
“I told my now fiancé forever ago that it was my dream to get engaged in front of a Disney castle and it is also my favorite place in the world,” Vargas told Good Morning America on Thursday, July 12. “I’ve been a Disney fanatic my whole life. It is also my dream to get married there.”
The love of Vargas’ perfectly-timed ring selfie falls in line with a recent Tylt study that found that 63 percent of polled participants were all for engagement ring selfies on social media.

“We were overwhelmed with so much love and people saying congratulations,” Vargas concluded to GMA. “We were not expecting it at all!”
