That was a Big Little secret. Big Little Lies actress Zoë Kravitz is engaged to Karl Glusman—and he’s been her fiancé now for eight months.

Kravitz, 29, revealed the surprising relationship status update in her new cover story with Rolling Stone released digitally Monday, October 29. During an outing in Brooklyn with the writer of the piece, Kravitz did little to conceal her engagement ring and casually commented on the piece, in fact, confirming that she’s getting married.

“Oh yeah, I’m engaged. I’m engaged,” she noted. “I haven’t told anyone yet—I mean, I haven’t told the world. I wanted to keep it private.”

Kravitz, who is the star of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, shared in detail how he popped the question. While the original intention was a romantic sweeping Parisian proposal, Glusman ended proposing in the comfort of their home this past February.

“I was in sweatpants. I think I was a little drunk,” she recalled. “I could feel his heart beating so fast. I was like, ‘Baby, are you OK?’ I was actually worried about him!”

It was in that moment that he dropped down to one knee and Kravitz replied, “‘Yes, stretch! Stretch to calm your heart down!'”

She added that he had selected her perfect ring. “He nailed it,” she proudly noted. “And I love that it wasn’t this elaborate plan in Paris. It was at home, in sweatpants.”

The pair first met through mutual friends. He was too nervous to approach her at the bar so Kravitz ended up extending an invite to Glusman that night for an afterparty at her apartment.

“I can be my weirdest self around him,” Kravitz noted. “It’s so relaxing to be around someone where you can be a 100 percent how you feel.”

Along with their engagement, the couple will also soon celebrate Kravitz’s 30th birthday. “Your twenties are fun, but they’re such a mess!” she said. “Making mistakes, not knowing what you want, being a little bit of an a—hole. I’m excited for my thirties, because I have a better sense of who I am and what my intention is with art and how to execute it. I’m sure I’ll make more mistakes. But that’s OK. We’re all beautiful messes.”
