Now that the cat’s out of the bag, Zoe Kravitz will inevitably have to answer questions about her impending wedding to her longtime love, Karl Glusman. The Big Little Lies star surprised fans last fall when she revealed in an October cover profile for Rolling Stone that she and Glusman have been engaged for some time now.
“Oh yeah, I’m engaged. I’m engaged,” she said at the time. “I haven’t told anyone yet—I mean, I haven’t told the world. I wanted to keep it private.”
In a new interview with InStyle, the actress, who also recently turned 30, admitted that she’s nervous about the next step, but looking forward to it nonetheless.
“I’m planning, slowly but surely,” she said. “It’s a little intimidating, but I’m excited. And I’m just starting to put everything together. So … wish me luck!”
Kravitz, who starred in last fall’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, told Rolling Stone that the proposal was a perfectly understated affair, different than the over-the-top Parisian proposal that Glusman, 31, originally planned.
“I was in sweatpants. I think I was a little drunk,” she told the magazine. “I could feel his heart beating so fast. I was like, ‘Baby, are you OK?’ I was actually worried about him!” When he finally did drop to one knee and ask her to marry him, Kravitz replied in the affirmative, telling him, “Yes, stretch! Stretch to calm your heart down!”
For the time being, Kravitz told InStyle she wants to keep a positive attitude and surround herself with loved ones as she looks forward to all this new chapter of life will have to offer. Looking back on her 30th birthday celebration, for instance, the actress said she has so much to be thankful for.
“It was this beautiful reflection of the last 10 or so years of my life and a great validation of being on the right path,” she said. “I looked around at these amazing people I have in my life and thought, ‘How lucky am I?’ It was a beautiful send-off into this new phase.”
